About Mckinnon

Who Are We?

The McKinnon Basketball Association is a not for profit Community Sporting Association that provides people within the cities of Glen Eira, Bayside and Kingston the opportunity to play basketball.

We run our competitions and training predominately from local school stadiums at Coatesville Primary, McKinnon, Bentleigh, Parkdale, Cheltenham and Brighton Secondary Colleges and also GESAC.

The ongoing positive association with each of these colleges proves that sporting groups like ours can share and give back to the community.

The opportunity to showcase our sport within the local community is great for supporters
and sponsors…….not forgetting the kids that love the game!

Eight member club domestic competition of both junior boys and girls playing over Saturday and Sunday.

Senior domestic competition, made up of classic (open age) teams plus over 35 men’s and over 30’s women’s competitions.

Representative girls and boys across all ages, playing graded teams from locations throughout metropolitan Victoria.

A strong referee branch exists to assist the very young with learning while earning a casual wage. The white / green shirt program is an ideal stepping stone to earning ‘black & whites’.

Our elite senior teams play in the Big V competition. We field teams in State Championship Men & Women plus Ladies and Youth League Men competitions.

Our amazing home grown talent along with US import players, brings ‘The Den’ alive…..and the young supporters just love it! The stadium is setup to accomodate over 300 supporters plus special sponsor boxes.

The MBA’s representative players are provided the opportunity to represent McKinnon abroad on the annual USA Basketball Tour.

We are a proud partner of the WNBL Melbourne Boomers, this relationship provides numerous benefits to our players, coaches and members.

The McKinnon Basketball Association prides itself on being an inclusive club and is honoured to support Fair go, sport! project.  This innovative program is designed to promote gender and sexual diversity in basketball clubs across Victoria. This program is designed to make basketball more inclusive and welcoming for members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender and Intersex (GLBTI) community.
