MBA EXECUTIVE

President – Leigh Bull

Leigh has been involved in the McKinnon Basketball Association and the Saints Basketball Club for over 10 years. My son has played representative and domestic basketball over that time period. I have been involved in basketball coaching, training and various Committees of Clubs. I have been a member of the McKinnon Executive Committee since 2012.

I am a Chartered Accountant and work for a publicly listed financial services company Link Administration Holdings Limited.

Vice President – Josh Martin

Josh has been involved in the McKinnon Basketball Association since 2007, starting as a team manager then coach in the domestic competition with the Bentleigh Lakers. Josh’s two sons, who started playing for the Lakers in the Under 10s, both still play rep basketball for the Cougars.  Josh has coached in the Cougars junior rep programme since 2009, acted as head coach on several of the Cougars USA Tours, and has been a coach with the BigV Youth League Men team since 2016.

Josh joined the Executive Committee in 2018 upon standing down after nearly 10 years as Vice President of the Bentleigh Lakers, and brings this experience and knowledge in such areas as club administration, player development, grading and policy setting to the MBA.

Outside of the MBA, Josh works for Database Consultants Australia (DCA) a leading database management and marketing company.

Treasurer – James Cody

James has been involved with the McKinnon Basketball Association for nine years.  He has three children who play/have played for Moorabbin Magic, they have all also played representative basketball for McKinnon in the VJBL competition.  Additionally, they have all coached at one time or another and the older two both referee.  James joined the Executive Committee in 2008 as Treasurer and has occupied that position since then.  Outside the MBA, James is the Chief Financial Officer of Funtastic Limited, an ASX listed distribution business.

Secretary – Carolyn Geer

Carolyn has been the Secretary of the MBA for the past 2 years, recently renominating. Prior to that she was involved in various roles (e.g. Sharks Secretary, Sharks Treasurer, Sharks Coordinator, Sabres Grading Secretary) for 10 years at Sandringham. Her family have been involved in basketball on many levels for the past 15 years. Currently her youngest son plays for the MBA Youth League Mens team and coaches one of our boys VJBL teams, while her oldest son works in the MBA office and coaches 2 of our girls VJBL teams. Carolyn can also be seen around the stadiums working as a Venue Manager. She is level 2 First Aid trained and has completed 5-day OHS training. Outside Basketball she is currently working at Glen Eira College.Assistant Secretary

Ordinary Members

Matthew Ross

Matthew has been with McKinnon Basketball for the past since 2010. He has been a coach, team manager and parent for both representative and domestic teams for his two children over this period. Matthew’s daughter is a member of the YLW squad and he coached his son in the U18 McKinnon representative program last year. Matthew has been involved in junior basketball at various clubs since 2007 and is excited to join the McKinnon executive team this year as participation growth and new court planning commences. Outside of basketball Matthew is the CFO for ALKO International Pty Ltd and has worked in Manufacturing Finance roles for the past 20 years in Australia, USA and Europe.

Jennifer Tancheff

Jennifer has been involved with the McKinnon Basketball Association since 2001.  She has three children who play/have played for Saints, they have all also played representative basketball for McKinnon in the VJBL competition.  Additionally, they have all coached at one time or another. Jennifer joined the Executive Committee in 2014 as an ordinary member and has occupied that position since then.  Outside the MBA, Jennifer teaches Physical Education at a primary school.

Dianne Naffine

Dianne has been involved with the McKinnon Basketball Association for 6 years and on the Executive Committee since 2015. During this time, she has been the Bentleigh Lakers Girls Age group Co-ordinator for u9’s and u11’s, Domestic Coach, Assistant Representative Coach and Team Manager. Dianne also spent 3 years on the Bentleigh Lakers Executive committee as the Public Relations Officer. Her 2 daughters, Abbey and Millie both play Representative Basketball for McKinnon Association and domestic basketball for Bentleigh Lakers. Outside of the MBA, Dianne works as a Showroom and Design consultant.
