The moment we've all been waiting for is here!
Our McKinnon Cougars Youth League Women have advanced to the Big V Grand Final after an incredible season, finishing at the top of the ladder with an 18-4 record. They secured their spot in the Grand Final with a commanding 89-65 win over Geelong United in the preliminary final.
This Saturday, they face off against the Pakenham Warriors, who have also had a stellar season, finishing just behind us in second place. The Warriors earned their place in the final by defeating Albury Wodonga 64-45 in their preliminary matchup. Stella O'laughlin led the way for Pakenham, putting up 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 steals.
Our Cougars have been a force all season, with standout performances from Kayla Welsh, who scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the preliminary final, and Arden Bailey, who added 13 points and 8 rebounds. With an average of 72.3 points per game, our team has proven to be a powerhouse on both ends of the court, consistently outplaying their opponents.
This is a matchup between the two best teams in the league, and it's going to be an epic battle. Our girls need your support more than ever to help bring home the championship. Your energy, passion, and support can make all the difference in pushing our team over the line.
